{"id":1280,"date":"2008-01-30T17:30:17","date_gmt":"2008-01-30T23:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mattstooks.com\/?p=1280"},"modified":"2008-01-30T17:30:17","modified_gmt":"2008-01-30T23:30:17","slug":"the-snub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mattstooks.com\/?p=1280","title":{"rendered":"The Snub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have you heard about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/international\/0,1518,532013,00.htmlhttp:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/international\/0,1518,532013,00.htmlhttp:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/international\/0,1518,532013,00.html\">The Snub<\/a>?\u00a0 Hillary reached for Barack&#8217;s hand at the State of the Union and struck out.<\/p>\n<p>The media has been using this photo as proof of the snub.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mattstooks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01\/snub013008.JPG\" alt=\"snub013008.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Barack says he was talking to someone else at the time.\u00a0 Hillary is obviously talking to Ted Kennedy at the time, so this picture doesn&#8217;t prove anything to me.<\/p>\n<p>But let&#8217;s say the snubbed happened.<\/p>\n<p>I was raised Catholic.<\/p>\n<p>One of the biggest worries I had going to Church was the Sign of Peace snub.\u00a0 You shake hands with people around you and say &#8220;peace.&#8221;\u00a0 There are lots of hands to shake, so it&#8217;s fairly typical to reach your hand out to someone while they simultaneously reach out for someone else.\u00a0 I wouldn&#8217;t say that person deliberately snubbed me.<\/p>\n<p>Until we get the photo\/video of Barack staring Hillary down while she put her hand out, I&#8217;ll go ahead and call this media-generated bullshit. \u00a0 But surely no other cameras were focused on Ted Kennedy, Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton at this time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you heard about The Snub?\u00a0 Hillary reached for Barack&#8217;s hand at the State of the Union and struck out.
